We are proud to announce that Good Luck Sara!, a short film from Bosnian filmmaker Isidora Ratkovic, has officially joined Pyramoon’s international distribution lineup.

The film follows the story of Sara, a young woman living in Bosnia, who receives a job offer from an Australian company after a long and emotionally charged interview process. It’s a dream opportunity — a chance to break free, to grow, and to redefine herself. But behind that seemingly bright door lies an impossible choice: to leave behind her mother, her boyfriend, her home, her country, and every piece of her identity that she’s ever known — or to stay, and give up a future that might never knock again.

Good Luck Sara! is not just a coming-of-age tale; it is a quiet exploration of the emotional violence of migration. It’s about the space between the people we love and the person we are trying to become. It’s about the invisible weight women carry when forced to choose between independence and connection, ambition and intimacy.

What makes this film special is its stillness — the way it lingers on glances, pauses, silences between words. Ratkovic has crafted a restrained yet emotionally rich world, filled with warmth, melancholy, and an undercurrent of longing that never quite leaves the frame. Her direction is tender, observant, and mature, allowing the audience to inhabit Sara’s inner life in an honest and unfiltered way.

The performances are subtle but deeply moving. Sara and her mother’s relationship, in particular, carries the heart of the film — a bond so strong and so fragile at the same time, it threatens to break both of them. Her boyfriend, a symbol of a life she might have had, serves as the emotional counterweight to her dreams of leaving.

Produced by Ishak Jalimam, Good Luck Sara! joins a growing wave of bold, emotionally grounded cinema emerging from the Balkans. It speaks in a whisper but hits like a wave — especially for anyone who has ever faced the pain of leaving something behind to chase an uncertain future.

At Pyramoon, we are dedicated to championing voices that offer more than entertainment — films that challenge, resonate, and stay with us long after the credits roll. Good Luck Sara! is one of those rare stories — intimate yet universal, personal yet political. A film that quietly asks: What do we owe to the people who love us? And what do we owe to ourselves?
