Moein Rahmanzadeh, Iranian filmmaker, writer, and producer

BIOGRAPHY

Moein Rahmanzadeh is an Iranian filmmaker, writer, producer, and colorist. He studied Visual Arts at the University of Art Tehran. He began his professional career in photography before moving into cinema and color grading.
Working across different areas of filmmaking has shaped his approach to visual storytelling. As a colorist, he has worked on feature films and other productions. At the same time, he continues to develop his own scripts and independent projects.
In 2024, Rahmanzadeh made his feature directorial debut with It’s Not the Time. He wrote, directed, and produced the film independently. The film later screened at international film festivals and received several awards.
In 2026, he completed his second feature, Withered Pomegranates. Rahmanzadeh wrote, directed, and produced the film and completed its post-production himself. The film explores grief, memory, family relationships, and the difficulty of living with unresolved questions.
Rahmanzadeh also founded Pyramoon Studio as a platform for independent filmmaking. Through the studio, he develops and produces films with a particular interest in unconventional stories, personal filmmaking, and cinema that leaves room for ambiguity and interpretation.

ARTISTIC APROACH

Rahmanzadeh’s approach to filmmaking is rooted in a belief in cinema as a space for ambiguity, observation, and personal interpretation.

His work often explores quiet tensions within ordinary relationships. These include grief, memory, guilt, identity, and experiences that resist simple answers. Rather than providing clear conclusions, he allows contradictions to remain present. This gives audiences space to form their own interpretations.

Visually, he is drawn to restrained compositions, naturalistic performances, silence, and duration. He also pays close attention to the emotional weight of seemingly insignificant moments. For him, form does not simply present a story. It also becomes part of the story itself.

Across filmmaking, writing, and color grading, he continues to seek a balance between precision and intuition. His films remain personal in their perspective while leaving room for different interpretations.
