History and Formation of Pyramoon

Pyramoon is an independent film company that started its journey in 2021. It began as a small, creative studio focused on video advertising. From the start, it was powered by the strong cinematic vision of its founder, Moein Rahmanzadeh. His goal was never just to sell products—it was to tell stories that matter. Stories that spark thought, start conversations, and explore new artistic paths.

The name “Pyramoon” combines “Pyramid” and “Moon,” symbolizing structure and mystery. In Persian, it also means “around” or “surroundings.” This reflects the company’s core mission: to step away from mainstream trends and explore the edges—where independent voices often live and breathe.

In 2023, Moein produced and distributed his first feature film, It’s Not the Time, under the Pyramoon name. This marked a turning point. What began as a video studio officially became an independent film company, focused on bold storytelling and giving a platform to fresh, fearless filmmakers.

Today, Pyramoon is more than a business. It’s a growing creative movement. With each project, it aims to connect meaningful stories to curious audiences—supporting independent cinema across Iran and beyond. The journey continues, frame by frame, with a deep love for the kind of filmmaking that dares to be different.

Who We Are

Pyramoon is an independent film company with a small team and big dreams. We’re growing fast—not just in numbers, but in vision. What started as a local effort has now expanded far beyond Iran. Today, we work with filmmakers and partners from across the world.

As we grow, so does our commitment to independent cinema. We are turning into an international film production and distribution company. Our focus remains clear: support bold voices, artistic risks, and stories that deserve to be seen and heard.

Our network includes filmmakers, producers, curators, and thinkers who believe in the power of cinema to connect people and spark change. We believe that independent film is not just entertainment—it’s a tool for dialogue and discovery.

Still, we haven’t forgotten where we came from. The word “studio” stays next to our name to honor our past. It reminds us of the creative hands-on spirit that started it all. For us, Pyramoon is more than a company—it’s a growing community built on curiosity, passion, and a shared love for cinema.

What We Do as an Independent Film Company

As an independent film company, our focus is on supporting art-house, alternative, and non-mainstream cinema. For us, form is secondary to vision—whether a film is short, feature-length, or documentary doesn’t matter as much as the filmmaker’s voice. We are drawn to works that offer a singular perspective, the kind of stories that may not appeal to the mainstream, but speak deeply to their own audience—and deserve the chance to find them.

We place no geographical limits on our collaborations. Our work already spans regions across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, and we continue to seek out bold voices from around the globe.

At present, we are actively involved in festival distribution, while also supporting screenplays and works-in-progress through co-production, creative partnership, and occasionally post-production funding. When a project shows the potential to grow, so does our relationship with it.

Why We Do It

In today’s cinematic landscape, art-house and thought-provoking films are too often overshadowed by commercial, entertainment-driven productions. The global film industry has become saturated with market-focused content, leaving little room for stories that challenge, provoke, or linger in the mind.

At Pyramoon, we believe this gap urgently needs to be filled. Our mission is to support the films and filmmakers who aren’t always heard or seen—who choose complexity over simplicity, ambiguity over certainty, and depth over spectacle.
